Tis the season for giving, and the return of the flu.
It’s official, the influenza virus has made its way back to North America and it has no plans of leaving anytime soon. The flu virus infects millions of Americans from November through March with January and February being the most active months. While the flu may seem like “just a seasonal bug,” it’s far more dangerous.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that in the United States alone, more than 36,000 people will die from the flu. Worst than that, the World Health Organization says that the virus kills between a quarter of a million to a half million people a year, around the world. This staggering statistic shows us why it is so important to take every precaution to prevent the flu. And, the number one best way to prevent catching and spreading the flu is getting vaccinated.
